Thank you for your great work which helps to spread such important information that every human should know, and we all should be “up in arms!”

Thank you so much for your support Jean! And for your marvelous books which bring to light similar issues as oppression and ‘honor’ killings in the Middle East.

Violance on females can be curbed with proper education and understanding. Only laws will not help. Respect towards females can only bring result.

    • November 27, 2012 11:24 am

@Pervin — We know. But laws are the first step to curbing violence specially on this massive scale. We have to ask, if the system did not crack down, would the killing of Jews in Europe, or blacks in the U.S. or S. Africa, or Muslims in Bosnia have stopped by people being told to respect each other. Unfortunately the human mind, listens to laws first.

I just want to know how India and China are going to do without women! Why don’t the rich countries help them to abandon these contries and let only men live there? Do you think I’m a dreamer? Like John Lennon? We can do it together! We are the world! Spread the word!

    • November 27, 2012 11:25 am

Maristela — WE need the laws implemented! That’s what stop mass killings or killings of a targeted group as history is witness. Conversely, removed the system of law and order in any country — what would be the result? And who would get targeted first?

Lets respect all human beings. Whether or not they are married, unmarried, children, adults, old, young, mothers or not mothers. There is no excuse. This is a fundamental human right.

This is sick, sick sick. Satchmos words in one of his songs. I think in all the bibles it says though shall not kill.

We will do everything we are able to promote and raise awareness about the 50 Million Missing Campaign. Dismantling patriarchy should be a key goal for all good people of conscience. It lies at the root of a host of abuses including human trafficking, female genital mutilation, rape, sexual harassment and violence against women. This video presentation is a great resource for helping to inform people. Thank you.

I lived in the UAE for 6 years and got to know many people from India and heard too many stories of injustices towards Indian women, but as one person you feel helpless to do anything. As a group you can make a difference. Thank you for starting this organization. Making people aware of the problem is the first step and I am going to send this presentation made to the UN to EVERYONE I know. If men in India thought this was a problem, they would do something about it, obviously they don’t. So if you know any males who are Indian, you need to challenge them on their female world view! One by one their attitude needs to change. It is a small part of the solution, but it is something everyone, everywhere can do. This is part of the Indian mindset/culture and it happens everywhere to varying degrees.

I fully agree…its not a matter of giving us Indian women our rights its a matter of RECOGNISING that those rights exist and men /Govts can no longer be in denial of the same. This movement is not going away …its here to stay .

Another request is to the Media to stop wasting print on asses like Asa Ram …they thrive on this publicity as without it they would only be miserable little toads unknown ,unsung, unwanted.

Heres a thought …in a forest sanctuary animals are allowed to roam free as long as they do not harm humans. Only those animals are restrained that are deemed dangerous for humans, that are unpredictable in their reactions and therefore might indulge in unprovoked attack . By that irrefutable logic its the men in this God forsaken country who should be locked up not the women who go about their duties quite normally !!

It’s horrible, what a violence against women’s rights!!! I have been a participant of International Parliamentary program and studied right in the House of Lok Sabba, which is almost the same as european parliaments, but we could never ever imagine this is happenning in Delhi, in entire country. I think one of the main reason of this could be Dowry, which is, in my opinion the most stupid and idiotic thing I would ever imagine. I have wonderful friends from India and…People you should start to change this kind of old habbits, not only the law but also the habbits should be changed!!! I will definitely inform my other friends from different countries about this horrible issue, but I am sure Indian people have to be very strong and even aggressive while making this issue done!!! God help you, God help all of us!!!

    Hello everybody!

My opinion is.. that you guys not only need to change the laws, related to DOWRY or gender inequality, but also to TOTALLY REMOVE THIS HARM, called “DOWRY” from your society, from your mind, from your children’s thought and habits!
I am an Armenian lady and have so many Indian friends, both male and female. I had international visit in New Delhi, and am so much surprised but what I hear now. We were having discussions and meetings right in the Parliament, Lokk Sabba, but would never ever imagine that in this country women have such problems.
When asking about Dowry to our Parliamentary Indian partners…they were of course flying away from the topic, telling us that all the things are cultural and are under the deep control of Govt…
SORRYYY????? Under control of the Government??? Is that why so many innocent women are being murdered or humilized because of the stuff called Dowry?? What about old Indian culture, old beautiful habits??? Stopppp it MEN of India!!!!

I believe that MEN of INDIA can stop it in daily life. If you do not claim money for your wife, you will respect yourself more…Because, that’s You, who should pay for having a good wife and wonderful mother for your children!!! This is what happens in the World, in the World, were men respect their girlfriends, wives and mothers of their own children. That’s You -men who need to work and please their wives who raise children, who love you and he In Laws, who take care of them and become a daughter for them!!!! Do not forget it, Men of India! You all believe in God, what about fear of the God? Are all this stuff just sayings? Of course not! That’s why I Believe that not any Country in Europe, Asia or USA can help, if this things still appear in Indian thought, mind and habits! I truly believe and hope that God help you in this very important and essential question. And once again want to note: Government is Government…but the nation, the men of India has to Stop it!!! Stop it from your daily life, from every normal family!!!!

Good luck to all of us!!!

Unfortunately the anti-semitism that fueled the genocide of Jews in Europe was also in the heart, mind and cultural practices of Europeans, just as you pointed out that the female genocide is because of the beliefs and practices of Indian culture and history. And the world shrugged during the Jewish genocide. The world said, there is nothing we can do. And the world said never again! Yet, again the world turns to Indian women and says, there is nothing we can do. It is in the culture of your country! We at the campaign are supported by half a million people in our social networking sites, so we know that there are people in the world who believe in justice, in human rights. And who believe that a genocide is not permissible in the name of culture. We are hoping this community will get loud and strong enough to force international action one day, like for any other genocide.

Genocide is the most awful thing which could ever happen in the world. I can tell you that before the Genocide of Jews in Germany, 1941 (Europe), the Genocide of Armenian people in Eastern Turkey happened and about 1.5 million Armenian ladies, kids and people have been brutally tortured and killed ( April 1915). And as you can understand, as an Armenian lady, I can truly relate what you have just written about indifference of Europe and the world. This is what happens these days with Indian ladies and it is kind of a Genocide as I do a research on the internet and no any Human being can stay indifferent.

However, I believe that Indian MEN, TRUE INDIAN MEN, can do more then any Government in the World. It’s simple, if men don’t claim any Dowry and stay indifferent about this issue, no any Parent will pay it, and no any woman will suffer anymore…and so on, so forth.

I wish you SUCCESS in this very Important Fight! As to me, I will also do my best about this issue in my area.
    God bless you…

Thank you for your reply, i will follow your advice and share these articles.

I just wanted, as I pointed in my previous replies, to share everywhere I could, for everyone to read and understand what is happening now, because it’s not 1915, or 1940. It’s the 21st century, and the World should not be indifferent. Thanks for making everybody aware of this Thread – called Violence against Women, or Femicide …not matter what nationality or color or race they have!
    God help you all.
