No Guidelines for Sexual Harassment Laws in Indian Courts!

15 years after India’s Supreme Court laid down guidelines to protect women against sexual harassment at workplace, women advocates on Tuesday appealed to the Supreme Court in New Delhi to set guidelines for the implementation of the sexual harassment law to protect them at their workplace – the court premises!

Pent-up frustration over the years against absence of any mechanism for their protection at workplace made the women lawyers seek intervention in an appeal filed by a male advocate challenging his conviction by the Delhi High Court on contempt of court charges for allegedly behaving indecently and assaulting a female colleague in a courtroom on January 13, 2012.
